Medieval Music Online January: Pilgrims

This month we are looking at Cantiga 26 and Cantiga 302. For each you will find:

• the score

• a link to the Oxford Cantigas de Santa Maria database, containing a summary

• a link to the relevant entry in Andres Casson’s Cantigas de Santa Maria for Singers (instrumentalists, don’t ignore this website, it is very useful in all kinds of ways)

• links to a couple of recordings.

PLEASE… try to learn the music from the scores and not from the recordings. There might be differences in rhythm and text-setting according to different transcriptions that different musicians are using. But the recordings are useful for reference.
